Daiquiri

Published at

Daiquiri: Rum, lime and sugar may date back to the Golden Age of Piracy, but it took
iron miners in Cuba, not pirates, to turn it into this timeless drink.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Light Rum
  • 30 ml Lime Juice
  • 15 ml Simple Syrup

Instructions

Shake all ingredients with ice. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with Lime Wheel

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the daiquiri is a sickly-sweet frozen concotion served to the elderly aboard cruise ships, because that’s what the last few decades have made of it.

Travel back in time to its origins at the turn of the last century, though, and you’ll find an entirely different drink. The real thing is a classic sour, perfectly balanced, a drink that truly deserves a resurgence in cocktail culture.
